Camden, NJ laying off half its cops

White suburbanites don't give a damn about Camden or the other inner cities. They are perceived as black, drug marts filled with drug dealers and criminals and not worth attempting to salvage with a 50% HS drop out rate..

There's a big plan to revitalize Atlantic City. I'm not so sure it's going to work. I wish they spent the money keeping these cops working - not just in Camden but in Newark and JC also.

Atlantic City made the mistake of thinking it was too big to fail... the east coast "Las Vegas". The last thing they'd imagine possible was Philadelphia giving them some competition followed by a bad economy.

I went to Atlantic City in May and it's a broken down shell of its former self.

Cops getting laid off is never a good sign, specially when it's more than a handful at a time. Despite what our opinion is about cops... we need to have those resources.

I WAS LOOKING AT THE 1950 STATS.

It wasn't the fact that it was a white city then because it actually wasn't nor has it ever been really. It was because there was an incredible amount of work in the city due to may factories being up and running. Campbells soup is really the only big operation left from those days. The factories all closed up, got bought out, merged with someone else or just died off and nothing replaced them. That combined with the Philadelphia mafia dumping tons of drugs in the city and you have what you have decades later. Learn your facts before you make it a race thing dum dum.

Well since I live about 15 minutes from Camden, worked in the city for a decade, a SJ native all my life and have actually helped organize community events there, this isn't denial, it's the history of the town, period. Go race bait somewhere else. Plus, technically since it has been proven beyond a doubt that the drugs truly started in Camden thanks to the efforts of the Philly mafia, 10 minutes away on the other side of the Ben Franklin and Walt Whitman bridges, it would appear that some wonderful white people had a big hand in helping make it the cesspool it is. Those are facts, from a white man. Any more intelligent input or do you still want to argue your useless point?

Bottom line is we are all human beings and we all basically want and need the same things. if I remove the water or oxygen from this planet, your color would have no effect on your ability to survive. Grow up kid.

Problem with JC is that they put most of their cops in the Newport Pavonia section which has next to no crime. They're only their because it is the next Wall St. You ever take the Newport PATH? 5 cops at the top of the escalator this morning and 2 others down on the tracks during rush hour. What a wate of man power. All they're doing is checking peoples bags to.

camden is my fav place to be :) Their scrap yard gives me great prices and drugs aint too shabby either. Go down 25th st and make a left :) .If you not from the area, make sure your full on gas because camden gas stations arent the best places to go. You have to go inside and tell the person what # ur at because of thieves and there is like 10 car line of monkeys trying get gas while smoking phillies lol.
