Poor people do poor people things, and rich people do rich people things. You cannot legislate the poor into prosperity by legislating the wealthy out of prosperity. What one person receives without working for, another person must work for without receiving. The government cannot give to anybody anything that the government does not first take from somebody else. When half of the people get the idea that they do not have to work because the other half is going to take care of them, and the other half gets the idea that it does no good to work because somebody else is going to get what they work for, that my dear friend, is the beginning of the end of any nation. Before you answer me, take a GOOD look at what is at stake here ok? Quoting: BRIEF AND TO THE POINT:missingkids: From left to right: Alexander (age 7), Andrew (age 9), and the baby - Tanner (age 5) These little boys are MISSING. Their father (the man whom you are determined to excuse) is DIRECTLY involved with their disappearance. Pay attention Netherlands. You take a very close look at those children before you say another word of support about this man. Honey, this Netherlands idiot would argue that the kids needed to learn the lesson of being betrayed and abused by their father...fuck'n sick bastard... |

Anonymous Coward User ID: 1143098 United States 11/30/2010 10:59 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | What the hell is wrong with people? Quoting: Anonymous Coward 1074213Selfish... I'd say desperate. Many animals will kill their young when they know the range won't support them. Humans are animals. It's not much of a reach (and I'm not trying to justify, just explain.) Yes, I am crying as I write this, as the mom of two young boys...but as a social scientist and anthropologist, I know that infanticide is an ancient and cross-cultural tragedy that is always tied to the economic viability of having children, or additional children (because virtually all parents love and want their babies, if they feel that they can sustain them without losing their existing children). So maybe there is some feral part of the human brain even in Western cultures that is capable of killing one's young? Especially when it seems that they can't be cared for? I dunno but I pray for those beautiful babies. I have a problem with this, yes maybe years ago or in poorer countries. Here in the states if you can't care for your children you can and do have the option of giving them up for adoption. Had a father done that down here a baby would be alive instead of baked in an oven. Had a mother done that she would not have boiled her 3 month old baby on the stove. Had others done that the little children would not have been beat to death for crying, speaking, wanting food. all that has happened in the Houston, south texas area. |

Lets hope he did do the right thing and in moment of crisis got the kids to a safe zone. And thank goodness he was not successful, because that emotionally would create a few generations of emotionally damaged children knowing their father committed suicide and almost killed them, and they would possibly repeat the cycle in future from lack of sense of self. For those who think he should have been successful, you must me immature and not had any problems yet. May people show you more compassion when you have yours. |

Most people don't choose to kill their problems and dump them like so much trash. The children aren't in a safe place. The searchers were told early on, that it's not a rescue, it's a recovery attempt. To recover bodies. Tiny, little bodies. Those tiny, little bodies, that will never see adulthood, are worthy of compassion. |
Anonymous Coward User ID: 599701 United States 11/30/2010 11:46 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | I have heard of cases of fathers killing their children as a way to get back at the estranged wife especially if their is another man involved to step in as a dad. I hope this is not the case. It seems strange to me that if he were really serious about committing suicide that he would be dead. I don't think he intended to kill himself. Maybe he staged it. It is more common, I think, for parents to abduct their children when they fear losing custody. Maybe he took the kids to an out of-of-state relative/friend to hide them. He apparently tried it before. I hope this is the case rather than the former. Those poor children. I hope they find them alive and well. I just don't understand how people can do such horrible things to their own children. It's bad enough when strangers do horrible things to children let alone the parents doing it. Sick, sick world. |

Anyone who contemplates murder, and carries it out, has mental health problems. Even if someone is being abused and murders their abuser, they still have psychiatric issues due to trauma. My ex used to threaten to kill me and our daughter. We went through 3 years of court. He's finally now gotten unsupervised visits. He seems like a different person and swears he would never do her any harm, but I still worry that one day he will snap and come good on his threats. Familicide terrifies me. User ID: 1140990 United States 12/01/2010 11:55 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | It has NOT been confirmed by Morenci PD or the FBI that John Skelton admitted killing his children. It seems a couple news stations ran with the "news" after he'd been arrested. He's in Lucas County Jail in Toledo with a 3 million dollar bond. One million for each child. He's fighting extradition to Michigan and a hearing has been set for Dec. 14 to determine if he will be sent back to face charges in Michigan. |

User ID: 788028 Canada 12/03/2010 10:34 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | John Skelton has admitted to FBI profilers that he killed his sons. Quoting: MelodyeIf he admitted it then why didn't he tell them where they are? probably to be a dick to his ex wife. did you ever hear the story of sarah and phillip gehring, their father shot them in a van and buried them on a roadside somewhere in the midwest, anyways he killed himself in jail, never pinpointing exactly where they were and it took the mother almost three years to find their bodies (well a stranger found them) [link to www.philipandsarah.com] this case IS confusing, the newspapers report rumors as truth. i still hope MAYBE he gave them to someone else and they are using tactics like accusing him of murdering them to get him to talk, then the media is picking up on that. i just don't know anymore, the odds aren't very good on this outcome. No. They are evil. Quoting: nimbusEvil exists. It's not ALL just psychiatric problems. maybe being evil is a psychiatric disorder. he may not be schizo or bipolar, but he could be a narcissist, or even have had a psychotic break. That's the oldest trick in the book women use to try to keep their x's from seeing their children. The courts know you were lying and so do I. I think the punishment for lying to keep a father from his children should be losing your rights to see them. |
