I think it has a yogurt base. Quoting: Anonymous Coward 1126531Oh, we have sooo been there. The only food he will tolerate is Innova Evo canned turkey or lamb. With his disorder, he can't eat dry food at all, and he's sensitive to dairy and goat's milk. Thanks for the suggestion though. Appreciated. |

Are you an SCA member? No, I'm not. We homeschool with another family - a small co-op and the girls were studying the Italian Renaissance. So it's a bit of a field trip. |

(OP) User ID: 1174266 United States 11/26/2010 11:59 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Many prayers. Poor lil Gus Quoting: EnaidCats have real sensitive digestive systems. It's not really his digestive system as much as it the nerve development in his esophageal muscles coupled with anatomical defects surrounding his esophagus near the heart. Basically, his esophagus does not naturally push food into his stomach; it pools in the esophagus causing enlargement and vomiting. If we had not taken him in at 2 months old and put him on medication, he would have been dead - no question. Even with meds, many cats either die: most with diagnosed megaesophagus are euthanized early in life. It's nearly impossible to find info on this disease in cats because the prognosis is poor and vets usually choose to euthanize. We've successfully countered it with meds until now - meds to force the muscles to contract and keep things moving. But now, and we don't know why, the muscles at the bottom of the esophagus near the stomach are just closing up, so no amount of medication is helping. Man, when I type that out, it really does sound bad. :( Ok, back to sewing... busy the mind. |
