Quoting: BRIEF AND TO THE POINTBarbarian. Turtles should be eaten raw. Like sushi. Yeah when it comes to creatures swimming around in my gut I'm a bit of a pussy I guess... I have some georgia kin-folk- backwoods type. They took my cousins out for late night turtle hunting in a muddy GA river. I can't really tell the story to give it justice, but it makes me giggle thinking about it. Those turtles have some awfully big, strong jaws- I can't see being in their domain (along with moccasins) and trying to snatch them out of the water. One night they were out doing this and a storm rolled in. My aunt, holding up the lantern told my cousin we better go in to shore. Next thing you know they woke up in the sand and mud on the shore, smoking. I'd say it addled them but they were addled before that. Definitely didn't help with their frizzy hair. As far as potato soup I like to add heavy cream, some sour cream. Lots of garlic- and I like to put cod fish in mine. Not sure what kinda turtle'n they were doing, but I always put left over whatever on a big hook tethered to a strong pole in the ground and toss it out the night before...next morning I'll have at least three turtles per 6 hooks out... Heard stories of people reaching up into the bank mud and grabbing turtles out, but we all know what eventually happened to Steve...I'm not dumb enough to play with creatures that can fuck me up... :steveirwincroc: I missed the episode of the Croc hunter where he fed live babies to the crocodile.. |

Quoting: BRIEF AND TO THE POINTVery true...carpets are the festering armpits of the nation. I have changed out acres of carpet and carpet blows. But potato soup, wonderful soup...with bacon and leeks and sausage....that is really nice. |

Quoting: BRIEF AND TO THE POINTA bowl of soup first would be good. I am having steak, some kind of potato and steamed veggies. Soup would be good :( I went with sweet potatoes because I figured it was like having a potato, and a veggie. Yams/sweet potatoes, are much better for you than regular potatoes for sure, I like to crock pot them all day and serve with butter and Cinnamon that sounds easy and delicious! going to try it. thanks! |
