Quoting: Anonymous Coward 826185Click on the marinetraffic.com link in my posting and it will open up the ships current information, then to see the exact location click on the Latitude / Longitude coordinates that are listed within the information, they are highlighted in red and that will open up the map showing where it is located within the Gulf of Mexico... Anonymous Coward User ID: 1166214 United States 11/16/2010 04:47 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | I've been going out on that gulf for over 20 years.. Never have I seen it so blue looking as it was when I went out for the first time few weeks ago. It's not normally that blue.. Fact is you don't hit 'blue water' until you're about 70 miles out. We only went about 20... Most of the time it's a clear greenish looking.. not bluish..not that close to land. |

Quoting: Anonymous Coward 1166214They are doing all types of experimentation with chemicals trying to develop a control for the micro biological nightmare that they have released in the Gulf (SYNTHIA) I have also heard reports of them farming "Blue Algae" because the algae consumes the carbon dioxide in the water and they are looking at possible different sources of fuel... Iron is used as a fertilizer for the blue algae and that is part of what was mixed in with the Corexit 9500 that was being sprayed from the air over the Gulf, it showed a high level of iron among other things had been added to the Corexit 9500... Some huge plumes were just discovered in the north pacific ocean... Blue algae creates what is called "Domoic Acid" and in humans, the domoic acid toxin attacks the brain, producing confusion, memory loss and hallucinations. Marine mammals with domoic acid poisoning rarely recover,They can't forage; they can't migrate. They get lost and eventually stranded and die. Expect more of this type of story being covered up. Could the blue water be a reflection of no plant life existing down there? Just sand. Water colour tends to be a combination of the water, the depth, the bottom (sand/reeds etc) and sky does it not? Where did you get your info' regarding synthia, if you dont mind me asking? Thanks for the post. |

Goodbye, halcyon days... There is a theory which states that if ever anyone discovers exactly what the Universe is for and why it is here, it will instantly disappear and be replaced by something even more bizarre and inexplicable. There is another theory mentioned, which states that this has already happened. |

Quoting: fellowearthling89m x 60m = 267 x 180 feet... I mis spoke by using the word "ship" it is a drilling rig platform, in the hull inspection video you can see the drill head sticking out... Still there has been a warning attached to it STAY CLEAR 2 MILES which is not on ANY of the other rigs or ships nor have I ever seen this type of warning given before... And looking at that hull inspection it looks like its sea worthiness is being compromised... |

(OP) User ID: 1150673 United States 11/16/2010 05:25 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | I don't think its a ship. Quoting: Anonymous Coward 826185It's 89 feet x 60 feet, and it's 255 feet deep. Sounds like a research vessel that needs others to stay away. Its actually 89m x 60m = 267 x 180 feet... And it is a drilling rig, I mis spoke by using the word "ship" and since have made the proper corrections to my post. In the hull inspection video you can see the drill bit extending out connected to a piece of pipe, but none the less ship, drilling rig it does not lessen the fact of the warning that has been placed on it... |

All I know if the water should not be so 'blue' in color.. more of a green than blue. maybe that poison turned the water blue.. also there seemed to be a lot more foam coming up from the propellers that i have ever noticed ..maybe i was a little paranoid about it.. and took notice more.. but I have always sit at the back watching the water spray up and out.. It was just freaking weird... Caught a lot of fish though.. I have some pictures I will try an load them up.. Should have some of the water before the oil and after.. |
