Mystery of man killed in London subway tunnel

A minor local story, but suggests there may be something lurking beneath the city.

A man was killed when he was struck by a train as he tried to walk home through a Tube tunnel, it emerged today.

A maintenance team carrying out a routine inspection found the body of the man, who has not been named, at around 2.30 am. The last train had gone through 90 minutes earlier.

Police examined the last three trains through but did not find any evidence of the collision. The victim's injuries, however, were consistent with having been struck by a train.

“It was reported to police at 2.25am. The body had injuries consistent with being struck by a train. The incident is being treated as unexplained.”
