(OP) User ID: 1066095 United States 11/10/2010 01:22 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | A-10's are pretty quiet. They also look like they are doing things planes can't do when maneuvering. Very impressive weapon platform. Quoting: Anonymous Coward 240467Thanks. That's what my husband said. The things I saw didn't have anything attached to them on the bottom like in the pictures of the A10s. The one I saw the longest was when I was sitting at a drive through and glanced up to my right thinking I was seeing a hawk. It made no noise. The fusilage was shaped like a very skinny tube and the "tanks" really didn't look like engines. But I guess it could have been an A10. I want to see more so I can be sure. Honest to God the ones I'm seeing look like drones. Or gliders - but it was not a glider. I'm not sure which I'd prefer - drones or tank killers lol. Quoting: Anonymous Coward 476597I know when I stayed in Tuckerton about 5 years ago, I'd see A-10's all the time. They had (have?) a live fire range just to the west of the GSP by Tuckerton. Also from your description, sounds like A-10's. HTH A few miles from AC near GSP exit 30. I drive across the state from the ocean to the bay both ways every day. That's when I see these. The details of the plane didn't look like the pics of the A10s and I could have sworn I was close enough to see the details. I can't wait to see another one. :SWT name: When the shit hits the fan and the end is quite nigh, will you cry out to heaven? Will you lay down and die? Not me, my dear ones. This is my sacred life. The fuselage on the planes I saw looks more like the warthog, but all those extra details were not there. It seemed plain enough to be a glider but it wasn't a glider either. It was probably flying higher than it seemed but I don't know - it seemed to be really low. I describerd them to my husband as sneaky because every time I've seen them they are low and silent. User ID: 40205 United States 11/10/2010 02:25 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Hi all. Quoting: SaltWaterTaffyThis is what I see in the sky in South Jersey pretty often: They are small and slim aircraft - primer gray color. When I see them they are so low I can make out detail. They don't make any noise. They "sneak up" and I've only seen them from behind. They have wings on the back that are "U-shaped". They come out from the fusilage and point up. There are two tanks that are shaped like propane tanks (the kind you attach to a bbq grill) on the horizontal/bottom part of the "U". They are so small, I can't imagine they have a person inside ... this is why I asked my husband if they might be drones. He says they are A10s like this: [link to en.wikipedia.org] but the tanks I'm seeing by the back by the wings look nothing like the engines on the A10. They are shaped totally different. Anyone know what else they could be? My money would be bet on these being Drone's since they are grey and quiet. All the UAV's look funny and are supposed to be very quiet. Probably not A-10's because they can be quite noisy with their twin turbines... Here's some pics of UAVs: [link to www.google.com] Last Edited by chaakin on 11/10/2010 02:26 PM |

I swear I could see the corners and angles clearly it was so low, and there was no way it would be big enough to hold something like that. :SWT name: When the shit hits the fan and the end is quite nigh, will you cry out to heaven? Quoting: chaakinHere's some pics of UAVs: [link to www.google.com] It was shaped like the UAVs with the 90degree tail wing things (sorry - im a civilian lol) as opposed ot the angled ones. I'd have to see a shot from directly behind to see if the was the exact one, because the tank things were clear. But do they fly those over NJ? Wouldn't other people notice? I'm a looker-upper, but still. I've seen between 5 and ten of these things in two months. :SWT name: When the shit hits the fan and the end is quite nigh, will you cry out to heaven?
