Kids today are already exposed to too many chemicals in their diets, they don't need more. Neurodevelopment levels out between the ages of 4 and 6 so most (NOT ALL) five year olds still exhibit much of the selfish, young, ego based behaviour of a 4 year old. I still think ADHD exists as a brain based behavioural pathology but not to the extent that teachers, psychologists etc say. Much of this bad behaviour is developmental not neuro. It should be easy enough to partial out the effects of the two with instruments that are designed to differentiate developmental immaturity from a genine brain disorder. That will the next step of the research... |
