They built this thing based on knowledge of the "laws of physics," and they predict and assess the possible level of danger to all of Earth's precious and unique lifeforms (including all of humanity) based on the "known laws of physics," BUT, they are expecting to prove that the "known laws of physics" are bogus and outdated AND they are even hoping for that outcome?

. Like I said go read up [link to en.wikipedia.org] Do you think we sent actual instruments to the suns center to measure the temperature there? Of course not, we use the basic laws of physics to deduce the suns temperature. In this same way we can theoretically deduce the temperature of any hot object by measuring is radiative power output.

It doesn't scale it down like that. Things break down at the quantum level. the space/time 'grid' has smallest units in planck lengths. really tiny, but discreet. this is quantum physics - it is real and observable.

Much of what we observe is really inference of what we can't see based on the reactions of the things we can see.
