The state department said Israel was not expected to raise objections. State department official Andrew Shapiro said the weapons were critical for Saudi Arabia's defense from threats such as al-Qaeda and Iran." [link to www.bbc.co.uk] Nobody has a comment? I find this quite interesting. News anchor on CNN commented that Saudi Arabia has a questionable human rights record and is surprised to see such a deal from the current administration. They also mentioned that Israel is not expected to raise any objections. So far CNN website has no link, will post it when its up. |

"The sale is meant to further align the Saudi military relationship with the United States and enhance the ability of the kingdom to defer and defend threats to it and its oil structure, which "is critical to our economic interests," said Andrew Shapiro, assistant secretary for political and military affairs, at a State Department news conference." This thread is far from the truth - Saudi Arabia would never attack the West. And the US is interested in their oil. Despite everything else. WTF? Can someone help me understand this? Well, read what Shapiro said, apparently it is critical for the US economy to "protect the oil reserves" of Saudi Arabia. The mere mentioning of how Saudi needs to protect itself from Iran makes me laugh. As if Iran would attack them when they have the 4th largest oil reservoir in the world. This is quite odd, isn't it? |

WTF? Can someone help me understand this? Simple. Political expediency for the elites. US and Saudis know that it was a farce. Bush arranged for the extremely wealthy Bin Ladens to be flown out under cover of closed airspace...knowing full well their little secret. US loves wackadoodles ... to use or not to use...that is the question. Wahabis or Sephardics or Taliban or Zionists or "Bin Ladin" et al. Latest news reports ... (that no one reads on here) that the Bush's Iraqis are going back to the majority Sunnis (Iran's Mullahs).. And in Obama's Afghanistan, NATO is being forced to deal with the Taliban. We got what we wanted. On to Pakistan. |

So quick to bitch about Irans human rights record and nukes yet they sell arms deals to the capital of terrorism and where women still arn't allowed to drive: Saudi Arabia. Absolutely do not give a shit anymore about what people think about them do they? (US) What a bunch of shit heads |

They were not required in Iraq, pre US, nor in Afghanistan, pre US. Now we have the Iraqi Sunnis (Iran's Mullahs) and the Afghanistan Taliban back in power forcing burkas, yet again. We be off to Pakistan soon. [link to www.alhannah.com] |
