said Justice Frank Marrocco in sentencing Mumford for violating a seven-year-old boy in 2007, his sixth victim since 1980. All of his victims were seven to 14 years old.

His son, Wayne Edward Mumford, a convicted serial rapist of sex-trade workers in June 2005, was declared a long-term offender in 2007 and sentenced to 15 years imprisonment followed by a 10-year supervision order.

The then-31-year-old Mumford was deemed to have incurable sexual dysfunctions and suffered from fetal alcohol disorder. A judge turned down a dangerous offender bid for him and instead imposed a lengthy but fixed sentence.
