Some times it's really bright. It's very noticeable after waking up in the middle of the night and trying to go back to sleep. Anybody else experience this and or know what it is??? Thanks!

Also, get checked out for diabetes or anything else obvious. GLP isn't the best place to seek medical advice, stick to a qualified practitioner.

It is a common entoptic phenomena known as phosphene. My eyesight is really poor but as a kid lying in bed I used to get the most wicked full color light displays floating all around the room so I have researched this subject a little. I have never had migraines or any of the other conditions that other posters have mentioned as possible causes for you seeing lights, but I have had a detached retina, and it is just like a bright flashlight goes off inside your eye. Please get it looked at, at least just to rule it out.
