Compare the window shot of other pictures available of planet earth and you clearly see that the Apollo shot is just of a round patch of the surface. You can actually see the sea and landshapes, maybe enough to determine what part of earth it was taken over. |

Most of the major calculations were done on the ground and the results were fed into the apollo guidance computer. You can emulate the AGC computer on modern hardware while running the actual software they used back then and see for yourself that it worked. |

It's a very well-done simulator capable of emulating the apollo hardware to spec. It simulates the same amount of fuel the real spacecraft had, among other things. |
