In the town I live closest to, they just fired the entire police force. All three of them. They hadn't make an arrest in so long the mayor figured they could save a few bucks. The fired cops are going to work for a local contractor and make more money. The mayor wouldn't fire them until he was sure they would be ok. That's the kind of place this is.

Woodsfield, Ohio: The Not so Friendly Mayberry Town

It was a warm August morning, the day my children and I arrived in Woodsfield, Ohio. At first glance the village resembled what many of you may remember as the 1960s television program called "the Andy Griffith Show".
