Its a pyrolytic depolymerization basically. Heat break big molecules in shorter ones, making some similar to diesel/heating oil. The PET plastic, the most used one, gives a mess because of the oxygen atom in the molecule. So can not be used... |

Quoting: Anonymous Coward 75679511 My solar panels alone create enough electricity to run this machine and I could use the gas it creates to drive my car or bike. That's amazing. The only net positive consumer systems are geothermal and nuclear. |

I like how someone can put an idea out there on the interweb and other people can jump in the help make the original idea better. Billions of ordinary average Joe type people using the internet to share ideas that could potentially change the world for the better. I bet some people might find that to be a very scary idea. |

The machines are able to process polyethylene, polystyrene and polypropylene (numbers 2-4) but not PET bottles (number 1). The result is a crude gas that can fuel things like generators or stoves and, when refined, can even be pumped into a car, a boat or motorbike. One kilogram of plastic produces almost one liter of oil. To convert that amount takes about 1 kilowatt of electricity, which is approximately ¥20 or 20 cents’ worth. The company makes the machines in various sizes and has 60 in place at farms, fisheries and small factories in Japan and several abroad. “To make a machine that anyone can use is my dream,” Ito says. “The home is the oil field of the future.” Perhaps that statement is not as crazy as it sounds, since the makeup of Japanese household waste has been found to contain over 30 % plastic, most of it from packaging. We've had videos on GLP at least 10 years ago showing how to return plastic to oil. it's really simple. If you build one big enough to take tires, you get a bunch of steel, a bunch of carbon black, and oil. IIRC, a couple of gallons of oil per tire. Now that is the way to recycle old tires. Quoting: Franktastic Like find plans to build one myself tho.. All you have to do is build an air-tight chamber that can be heated. You heat the plastic without oxygen and the gas driven off is cooled and is oil. Communism is for LOSERS Communism is SLAVERY Fuck Joe Biden |

This isn't new. People have been doing this kind of thing for over a decade, even on youtube you can find ways to do it. Cool post though, but this company isn't the first. I believe in science NOT religion. Giving me bad karma for that, is anti-religious (you're passing judgement) I am just a man. Of no significance. Who found religion to be full of lies, and wrong doing, conflicted teachings I understand microwave communications. I do not stand for the NWO, it sucks. |
