I'm eating the sponge-cake bread right now and I'm loving it. Very good indeed.
Drinking coffee without sugar is an acquired taste. Once I started drinking coffee without sugar, just for fun and to see if I could do it. A week later I tried to drink it with sugar and just couldn't stand it. That was thirty years ago and since then I drink my coffee with no sugar. And I do really have a sweet tooth.

I have looked for the part where he said it can take up to three weeks for your body to become a fat burning machine.

One week into this.

No weight loss so far.

In fact, I'm afraid I see an increase in inches!

Rib Eye Steak is good. I love fatty pieces of steak with light seasoning on it.

Also eating bone marrow is really good for you. Scoop it out of bones when you can. It's delicious.

More about Bone Marrow:

“Historically, native American hunters would pass up a thin bison carcass, rather than eat lean muscle... or just eat the fatty bits. This is also one reason why BONE MARROW is a very popular food among foragers -- a great source of lipids & kcal. We will read, later, about the implications of this type of behavior for interpreting the patterns of meat eating among early human hunters and scavengers.”

In a report titled, “The Evolution Of Human Nutrition”, by Barry Bogin, which appears at the website of the Center for Instructional Technology Development at the University of Toronto Scarborough Campus( [link to citd.scar.utoronto.ca] the author states the following:

“Subsequent analysis shows that hominids may have been collecting bones for their marrow and brain tissue rather than for any meat still remaining on the surface of the bone (Binford 1987). Marrow and brain are high in fat and protein, but few carnivores have the morphology
necessary to break open large long bones.”

Hi everyone,

I am still here, but had a really busy day. Off on holidays early tomorrow morning and will be back on 31st August.

I will respond to all these posts when I get back, but in the meantime it would be fantastic if everyone who has started can post progress reports and ask any questions.

Look forward to continuing to participate in this thread when I get back.

Take care everyone

Week 3 now and lost 20 pounds in 21 days :O) All going great but I keep forgetting to drink enough water - my only problem now is my knee joints have suddenly started aching over the last 2 days, so much so it is making it hard to sleep, it is like a dull throbbing - it may be uric acid build-up do you think? I will defo drink at least 8 glasses a day from now on - I also take 2 splenda tablets in my coffee with cream, about 2-3 mugs a day, so 6 splenda tablets, I wd really rather not take splenda at all, as it is said to cause joint aches in some people, plus God knows what else it is doing to me ref brain toxicity - but I crave a sweet taste in my coffee - any other healthy sweeteners out there? Lastly i hear joint aches could be due to low potassium? Any thoughts on sorting this out wd be greatly appreciated - the diet/change of eating has been a breeze, no hunger at all - 20 pounds in 3 weeks is great, and that with no exercise, just bought a bike so will be on that most days, be interesting to see how the losses continue :O)))

well then if you have a weight problem that's more than a ten to fifteen pound overweight difference (and no don't go by the BMI index) then you are doing it wrong.

then you need to see a good doctor, because something is wrong with your body.

also
eating potato cheaps doesn't count as working out.

Admittedly the first 5-8 pounds is water loss, but the main thing is *no hunger* and feeling great apart from the splenda or potassium loss joint aches...

Re: If you want to be thin and stay thin (and avoid Metabolic Syndrome), then you have to eat high fat
Thanks for sharing OP. I was just diagnosed with Diabetes and looking the ADA "recommended" diet is a crock of shit. I was looking for information just like this. hf

That is because they are trying to kill you, fluoride, trying to kill you, banning of vitamins and health food shops, trying to kill you, cloned animals and meat/milk, trying to kill you, chemtrails, trying to kill you, vaccines, trying to kill you, radiotherapy, trying to kill you...

Do the OPPOSITE of what the govt nannies say and u will not go far wrong!

Right on!!

The OPPOSITE every time.....

It's so funny, people who used to know me when I was large see me smoke and they do a disconnect. They always ask me how I square that with the new 'healthy me'! They never seem to connect the reason that I look 'healthy' is because I supposedly eat so 'unhealthy' lol

Always tell 'em - I am totally consistent. I did the opposite with the diet and it worked. So, I guess if they don't want me to smoke then there is a good reason why I should carry right on lol

I'm mainly doing the Atkins induction so far, with ideas from this thread too. Lots of water, coffee with cream, lots of meat, eggs, fish (tinned sardines, kippers, tuna etc, in olive oil, dump them over a salad with olives and boiled eggs and mayonnaise and tomatoes), small quants of cheese, basically cut out most carbs except salads - that means no bread, potatoes, milk, biscuits etc etc etc

I always try and have stuff ready that doesn't need cooking if I suddenly get hungry - boiled eggs always ready, so olives in olive oil, small tomatoes and some cheese - that will tide me over to next main meal, in the evening maybe pork chops with salad, meat is expensive here in the UK so I buy whatever is on sale.

I love my beer and have cheated 3 times, have had a few pints of Guinness and some vodka 3 Saturdays in a row (only drink once a week now, otherwise I get bored and wd go gaga), this stalls my weight loss for 2 days everytime, I put on a pound or 2, but by monday I am losing again - average of 1 pound a day, give it a try!

Oh yes, in emergencies a spoon of marmite with v hot water = a mug of 'soup' - does the business now and then, stops hunger cravings...

Thanks, no more splenda!

Honey is great, it's just the carbs are a problem.

17g alone in one tablespoon!!!

So no can do.

Actually I just had a nice coffee, with generous cream, and it was great, I think I can get used to it, with cream...

I'm reading into this way of eating, via easily available books like South Beach, Atkins and on food physiology, just getting info and advice as I read along. I'm not planning on starting to eat meat again, enough to gain with fatty fish and the once in a while chicken I like ;) I'm really planning on changing my eating patterns, the kinds of food I eat. So this thread really helped open my eyes to a healthier lifestyle. Thanks alot, Scorpion!
