Quoting: Anonymous Coward 1020790Ok, is it okay as far as the Holy Bible is concerned I guess is my real question The Christians I've known are usually very austere, not celebrating anything really and being generally glum and depressive alot of the time with an intense focus on projecting negativity outwards and being heavily judgement of others to deflect the focus away from themselves in a game of self avoidance of critical issues. Including myself. |

Why with all the lies, the all knowing santa, all the pagan celebrations... Quoting: IndicatesSanta and Christmas have deep roots in Christian beliefs that's why it's ok for those. |

Church 2 times a week, sometimes 3 times a week. Had to say grace before every meal, prayers at bed time, had to read portions of the bible, etc, etc, but they were normal, and were very into fun, they just were not bible thumpers. It is okay !! Have fun, and let your kids have fun. =) |

Yule log(pagan), 12 days of christman(pagan), tree(pagan), birth of a god(pagan). Early christianity incorporated these things to gain more converts. |

Santa NOT ok - Christmas ok if celebrated for the right reasons. Halloween is solely based on Pagan rituals. - It would be best to shun this one. |

The Jehova's Witnesses follow that to a "t". |

User ID: 77197 United States 08/08/2010 10:59 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Of course! Who said you can't be a Christian and a Pagan? If people stopped trying to separate all the religions and started incorporating them...the world would be a much happier place Free your mind and the rest will follow. And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God...Romans 12:2 BE the change you wish to see in the world. |

Quoting: domesticangelThe biggest problem with the 'holidays' is all the lying involved. People look directly into their child's eyes and bold face lie to them. And then keep heaping on the lies to make these children believe thing that aren't true. |

Christians, is it acceptable to celebrate this holiday? Quoting: Anonymous Coward 1020790the Bible says not to let anyone judge us in respect to holidays one regards the days, another regards every day alike :-) let everyone be fully convinced in their own mind :-) so celebrate any holiday as you feel comfortable, and don't let anyone judge you. there's usually harvest festivals around that time in lieu of trick or treating :-) my family and I live in the USA and we do Halloween and have a lot of fun! we decorate the house and yard, go trick or treating and hand out a ton of candy :-) the costumes are fun too. we also read the Bible, pray and go to church ;-) we're happy and proud to live in a place where we have liberty -- where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is liberty ;-) guilt and anxiety are not from the Lord. there is no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus. also we are to be anxious for nothing, but in everything with prayer and supplication we make our requests known to God. we cast all our cares upon Him, He cares for us! hope this helps love peace and joy rb |

New Age We are supposed to "come out of the world"... Rev 18:4 And I heard another voice from heaven saying, "Come out of her, my people, lest you share in her sins, and lest you receive of her plagues. Does that sound like "do whatever you want"? |
