All of this adds up to a stormy day for the central and east central states, but I have a hunch we will see more than just thunderstorms in some of these states today. Keep an eye on your local weather channels.

Lots of cooler polar air coming down ... But the aurora also cause heating too - but yeah, gonna be an interesting day for sure.

Within 10-15 mins of the CME hitting I noticed a huge deluge of rain and lightning here, pressure drop - pretty neat stuff. :D

That's cool!

I heard there was also a lot of summer heat lightning as well.

I saw that phenomena a long time ago. I wonder if it too was caused by a cme?

I've noticed that the rain in Canada has formed a band across the lower areas, and many times it matches up with the area of where the auroral energy is finally dissipated.

right now the Canadian storms are right under the yellow boundary, while a band of USA storms are right under the end of the blue boundary.

I am in Missouri and my sister is in Iowa so will keep any updates flowing if your prediction comes true... rain would be nice we are under such extreme heat/humidity plus this solar thing is enhancing it sooo much.
