gasp

July 18, 2022, by Melisa Cavcic

The U.S. Coast Guard, in collaboration with partner agencies, has contained and collected over one million gallons of oil discharged from subsurface oil wells connected to a toppled oil platform in Mississippi Canyon Block 20 (MC-20), located 11 miles south of the Louisiana shoreline.

The MC20 platform, operated by Taylor Energy, collapsed in an underwater mudslide caused by Hurricane Ivan in 2004, spilling oil into the Gulf of Mexico. The oil continues to leak from the damaged wells and this is described as the longest-running oil spill in the U.S. history.

In an update last week, the U.S. Coast Guard informed that 1,016,929 gallons of oil have been collected – as of 12 July 2022 – from the MC-20 site with oil being captured, contained, and removed from the site since April 2019, while a permanent plan to effectively and safely decommission the oil wells at the MC-20 site is being developed.

Capt. Kelly Denning, the Coast Guard’s Federal On-Scene Coordinator for the incident, remarked: “The near elimination of the surface sheen and collection and removal of more than one million gallons of oil from the site over the previous three years is a major milestone in the Coast Guard’s efforts to contain the MC-20 oil spill that has affected the waters off the Gulf Coast for years.

“Though the containment system is considered a great success, the federal government is exploring all available response options, including to properly decommission the impacted wells on site.”

Thread: The Rise of the Molecular Machines! The end of Humanity as we know it.

I've always had an interest in molecular sciences for computation since the discovery of Molecular Origami and saw huge potential for nanotechnology to become functional computational systems back in 2006 when it was first discovered.

I've been following AI and how it has been speeding up many fields of science including neuroscience, biology, and molecular origami. What I've seen is beyond the concepts I first saw with this technology as an external computational solution to nanoscopic computers.

If you have been following this science we now have Deepmind that has cracked protien folding aka mRNA gRNA etc. This means creating new molecules, genes and DNA has become infinite in the hands of those wanting to create molecular organic technological systems.

AI is also speeding up the Molecular Origamic development as well and since 2006 I've seen literally every aspect of computing emerge at the molecular level from logic-gates, memory, functioning nano-robots that can move.

Add to this CRISPR and gene editing we have the means now to completely re-write the human DNA if someone out there so desires. They can remove a gene they don't want and even add an artificial gene they created into the human Genome. (Quite likely this will inevitably lead to a future where humans have damaged the human genome so badly the species will be doomed).

But the most concerning is the uploading of nanotechnology based on the above sciences that can turn us into literal computers running a human operating system that replaces our current operating system ie... you/me/us. Where we are literally controlled by technology in a black-mirror mindcontrol kind of way.

And if you think I'm joking about mind-control... or re-writing your entire body into a Borg as the works of science fiction look at Darpa's involvement in this tech and haven't watched the Weaponization of Neural Science vid... watch this because it's our future.

Re: Something Just Went BEZERK in the Gulf of Mexico. The US Navy just sunk a French Submarine
The role of synapses as processing units of the human brain is reinforced by the results of computational simulation, which indicate that the computational power of a network is increased using dynamic synapses. This suggests that emulation of biological synapses is a prerequisite for the development of brain-like computational systems (Maass and Zador, 1999; Fuhrmann et al., 2002; Kuzum et al., 2012). A recently developed ultra-low-power artificial synapse for neural computing has demonstrated the capacity to provide 500 distinct states (Van de Burgt et al., 2017).

Real-time monitoring of the whole human brain (by placing neuralnanorobots within each neuron and nearby synaptic connections to record/transmit data from localized neuron and synapse spiking) may provide redundant data that might be employed in the development of validation protocols.

The Cloud
Due to the immense volume of data involved, data transfer to and from living human brains and the cloud may likely require the use of supercomputers with artificial intelligence algorithms. Current von Neumann-based-architecture supercomputers with massive numbers of processors are either centralized (composed of large numbers of dedicated processors) or distributed (based on a large number of discrete computers distributed across a network, such as the Internet).

Been coming to this site for many years, never clicked on this thread because it seemed too incredible. Going through some of it now, interesting comments from op and others. I do believe there was an attempt around that time by members of the militaries of the globe to work together to overcome the eternal "them" that have a stranglehold on humanity right now. If you look at actions taken by the neocons since then and seemingly out of control right now, the effort to engulf the militaries of the world in catastrophic combat was successful and the good guys lost :( but perhaps all is not quite as it seems...

New Giant Deep-Sea Isopod Discovered in The Gulf of Mexico
NATURE

10 August 2022

One of the largest living species today, Bathynomus giganteus, can be found at depths of more than 2,500 meters (8,200 feet). It was first caught off the Gulf of Mexico in 1879, and as it turns out, it might be two species rolled up in one.

A modern analysis of known giant isopods living in the deep sea has found subtle yet significant differences in their DNA and morphology (their shape and structure).

One specimen found in 2017, for instance, had a slender body compared to other B. giganteus specimens, despite being designated as that species initially.

The curious specimen was found off the Yucatán Peninsula between 600 and 800 meters deep, where B. giganteus has been found before. But there was something off about this one. It was slightly shorter in total length, measuring in at 26 centimeters (10 inches), and its antennae were relatively long.

While further data is needed to confirm the specimen's exact taxonomic ranking, researchers suspect it represents a new separate species of Bathynomus, and they have named it B. yucatanensis.

New Species of Deep Sea Isopod Discovered
The giant crustacean was originally mistaken for a different species at an aquarium in Japan

“At first, I thought it was [genetic] contamination, so I repeated the [DNA] sequencing experiment several times,” Huang tells New Scientist's Corryn Wetzel. “The results were the same.”

Huang and two other experts describe the new isopod in a study published in the Journal of Natural History. They dubbed it Bathynomus yucatanensis, after Mexico’s Yucatán Peninsula, where it was captured in 2017.

Around 20 living Bathynomus, or giant isopod, species are known, but they are rarely seen by humans because they live so deep in the ocean. Before being housed at the Japanese aquarium, the B. yucatanensis specimen was collected between about 1,970 and 2,625 feet below sea level, per a statement.

B.yucatanensis looks like its land-dwelling isopod relative, the common woodlouse (also called a pill bug or roly poly)—but at 10 inches long and 5 inches wide, B. yucatanensis is about 25 times larger.

Re: Something Just Went BEZERK in the Gulf of Mexico. The US Navy just sunk a French Submarine
The Chicxulub crater off of Mexico’s Yucatán Peninsula is mostly associated with the end of the dinosaurs. This six-mile wide impact crater is where the asteroid that wiped out the Ankylosaurus, T-rex, Triceratops, and many other dinosaurs collided into the earth 66 million years ago.

But, life still prevails in the giant hole in the ocean floor some 2,500 feet below the Gulf of Mexico.

Researchers have discovered a new species of the mysterious deep-sea isopod Bathonymus in the famous underwater crater. Called Bathonymus yucatanensis, or B. yucatanensis for short, these crustaceans dwell in the deepest part of the ocean called the the benthic zone. The 10-inch long invertebrates are closely related to the common woodlice, pillbugs, and roly polies found on land and distantly related to shrimp and lobster. Scientists believe that there are about 10,000 different isopod species, with about half of them living in the ocean.

An enormous 'isopod' has been discovered in the Gulf of Mexico
These giant isopods can grow up to 1.64 feet.

Scientists just discovered a new species of giant isopod in the Gulf of Mexico.

The new species was named 'Bathynomus yucatanensis.'

B. yucatanensis are thinner and shorter than other species. report says

Scientists recently discovered a giant isopod off the coast of Mexico. After analyzing the anatomy and DNA of the woodlouse relative, scientists revealed that it was a completely new species.

The recent study described Bathynomus yucatanensis, a giant isopod subspecies that could grow up to 1.64 feet (49.98 cm) from oblong head to rounded tail. The team’s work is published in the Journal of Natural History.

“It is increasingly evident that species of Bathynomus may be exceedingly similar in overall appearance, and also that there is a long history of misidentification of species in the genus,” the researchers said.

If you thought supply chain issues and shutdowns were a bother, things are really starting to stir.

China is experiencing the worst draught ever. Major rivers are so dry that there are no power outages due to no electricity.

Major manufacturing sectors have been without power for three days and it is expected to be prolonged.

Medical centers who produce medicine for the US and the West are in complete shutdown.

Food manufacturing, auto parts, machines etc.

Expect major issues and lack of supply.

There are a ton of news reports if you want to read, but sources are saying this is the catalyst to major doom.

How long will it last?

Years. If not permanent said Chinese authorities.
