Well...on a personal level, I am full of respect for anyone who has come face
to face with death in combat.
I suppose that is one hell of a teacher.


But other than that, my sympathy is with those who fight to protect their
homeland from superpower aggression.
That is righteous, and very difficult for me to critizise.
I am eternally grateful to my grandfathers - they were pretty much the

OP, the governments of the world are employees of the criminal minds that are actually making the decisions. They enact laws that there criminal masters tell them to enact. They make wars that there criminal masters tell them to make. Then soldiers are employed to carry out their criminal acts.

Everyone that agrees to take part in this horrible process is a criminal. From the power-brokers behind the scenes to the politicians that do their bidding to the soldiers on the battlefield.

So, yeah, soldiers who go to war and kill are still just murderers like any other. They are criminals committing criminal acts at the behest of other criminals.

The irony is that the United States does not have a military draft. Everyone in the American military has deliberately chosen to be there, despite the Americans' record of invading, occupying, and pillaging other countries based on lies.

Catholic moral teaching is clear:

1) A draftee can legitimately plead ignorance--that he doesn't have enough information to determine whether his country's cause is just.

2) A volunteer must be absolutely certain that his country's cause is just, otherwise he is simply a murderer.
