If the Moon reflects the sun's light, then as the Sun sets the angle changes, therewith, changing the moon's phase.
21 -- June 2010

Sunrise: 5:24am
Sunset: 8:30pm
Moonrise: 4:03pm
Moonset: 1:35am
----------

The Moon rose today at 4:03pm having the lunar phase waxing gibbous.

-- Shouldn't the sun's light change the phase of reflection of the Moon as the Sun sets?

If the Moon reflects the sun's light, then as the Sun sets the angle changes, therewith, changing the moon's phase.

Check-out the Moon tomorrow and tell me why they (educational system and their scientists) lied.

The angle gives away the mumbo-jumbo understanding of the moon from scientists.

I posted something about this about a year ago...referring to the moon visible during the day. Somebody posted some scientific mumbo-jumbo and insulted my education. How is anybody supposed to learn anything if we get insulted for asking questions? I was sick and the answer mostly went straight past me, so I can't give you a proper answer. hf

No, OP you are wrong. The Sun doesn't move behind the Earth when it sets, the surface area of Earth that you are standing on rotates away from the Sun.

Get two rocks or baseballs or something and go stand under a street light. Hold the earth close to you and the moon farther away. Put your back to the stationary sun and spin the earth in front of you. See if it changes how the light strikes the moon.

And the angle changes, yes, thank-you!

The Moon according to mumbo-jumbo science reflecting the sunshine in the middle of the NIGHT should change phases because the angle changes when the surface area of Earth that you are standing on rotates away from the Sun.

I take what they say with a grain of salt, they are either just as clueless as everyone else or are lying about shit. Either way, the whole truth of the matter is not laid out.

Yes folks, its the angle, the angle that changes when the surface area of Earth that you are standing on rotates away from the Sun that shatters science's understanding of the Moon.

The angle.

you know they are both really far away right? but the moon is closer than the sun. the baseball trick doesn't account for the relative differences in size or distance.

The moon reflects the sun's light? What you talking about?

If that was the case you wouldn't be able to see the moon at night, when there is no sun.
