This Is What An Oil-Soaked Ocean Wave Looks Like ! (Orange Beach, Alabama)

Orange Beach being hit by Orange waves of oil and water.... Well at least the community is now living up to its name (See one can find a bright side to any major ecological disaster)...

^ How Ironic. Reminds me of Eagle's The Last Resort: "you call someplace Paradise, kiss it goodbye".

Breaks my heart ... It least once a year my children play on that beach ... They have family in Mobile.

Right now we would be on my boat sailing in the gulf if it wasn't for this mess .... gawd I'm gettin' teary eyed now when I think what they have done!

For years and years I said off shore drilling could do this very thing.

it actually looks quite pretty!

It's killing sealife and wildlife ... nothing pretty about it!

it's been on the net for a good couple of weeks now...i actually had it as my desktop image for an hour or two. the oil spots are not what concern me in that image- it's the sickly yellow color of the water itself. a harbringer of death, first for marine life and eventually for millions of us.

Oh wow. The "water" is brown! Blame Corexit...

When I see that picture I get upset at the pain this has caused so many ... then i get mad and want to hurt the bastards that did this!

That wave looks pretty contanimated. But on other note, why did the reporter have to point out "a blond woman"?????? What has the color of her hair got to do with things. Geez!


Pictures like this will decimate the beach crowd, even as publicity from Gulf states tries to reassure tourists. In this PR video from Orange Beach, a blond spokeswoman admits "some stretches of our beach today are seeing little signs of oil" -- before drawing your attention to local golfing attractions.
