Re: What's the closest 6000 ft mountain to the gulf of Mexico?
From Wikipedia

...Mount Washington is the highest peak in the Northeastern United States at 6,288 ft (1,917 m). It is famous for its dangerously erratic weather, and long held the record for the highest wind gust directly measured at the Earth's surface, 231 mph (372 km/h) on the afternoon of April 12, 1934.[4] It was known as Agiocochook, or "Home of the Great Spirit", before European settlers arrived.[5]

The mountain is located in the Presidential Range of the White Mountains, in Coos County, New Hampshire. It is the third highest state high point in the eastern U.S. and the most prominent peak in the Eastern United States.

While nearly the whole mountain is in the White Mountain National Forest, an area of 59 acres (0.24 km2) surrounding and including the summit is occupied by Mount Washington State Park....

So what do you guys think? Mt. Washington?

Should we surprise the people on the mountain, or send angels to get them off of it, or what?

I've chosen Mt. Washington.

I had thought about dormant volcanoes, but I was worried about them erupting after the old cones were removed.

But thank you very much for the suggestion. If God actually answers me, and wants me to chose another mountain, I'll possibly suggest that one. Thanks!

I have to look into the height and location, first, of course.

Thank you all.

I'll see you on this particular thread, this coming Saturday night.

I'll be around on other threads, I think, as normal, well, as normal as normal is around here. Thank you all who helped. :)

Well, I thought the name meaning would be appropriate, however, you raise a valid point.

Hmmm.

I'm still gonna ask, but it is a good thing, now that you mention it, to have the back up mountain, lol.

there's a problem there though

to get permission for a BACK UP mountain. you have to fill out the relevant forms in TRIPLICATE!

fuck that.

too much bother.

Thanks for the support.

I know it sounds funny, and ridiculous, but I've always wanted to ask God to move a mountain. Seriously. And this is one of the best reasons I can think of to actually ask for such a miracle.

Well, I'm hoping that mega-tsunami doesn't happen, but if it does, I live on Crowley's Ridge in Arkansas, a place that used to be an island many millions of years ago, I should be safe.

I think the upper blue ridge mountain range offers the best choices so far,

Would anyone miss mount Mitchell, or Mt. Washington?

Interesting words.

If not now, soon.

One of the things missing from all of these doom scenarios is the miracles during the last days.

So they have to start some time.

I'm going to ask, in a very serious way, but there is no guarantee, of course, and hopefully, lol, no triplicate forms to fill out. :)

Seriously, but the conditions are these:

1. The mountain must not have many houses on it or any too close by.

2. It still needs to be near a populated area, so that if it should come up missing, it would be noticable.

3. It needs to be made of a material that is relatively solid, not anything like a pile of sand stone or loose volcanic ash.

This is a serious question, believe it or not, I could really use help on this.

I will check into that, no one living in the area, well, not many. It shouldn't be close enough to set off Yellowstone, one hopes. Oh man, stopping one disaster and creating another, not good, lol.

thanks, I will check into that.
