I was considering investing in gold bullion before the recent price rises but after reading the article I am now thinking the risks are too great should I be the one lumped with the hot potato. ie fake tungsten/gold bullion.

How do you know that the gold you are buying is 100% bona-fide.

Are you really wealthy enough to go out and buy 400 ounce bars?

Simple solution is go out and buy one ounce or smaller gold coins: kangaroos or maples. They are nicer looking than one big bar, and easier to sell if you ever need to. Nobody has ever made fake gold coins that are the correct dimensions and weight.

digital calipers plus a gram scale can be bought for about 60.00 All the measurements of all modern gold coins are available on the internet
