Take it to the side of the pipe, and by igniting the explosives it should ack as a giant hammer/rocket, to crimp the pipe from the side. More explosives can be added if needed, and light or heavy taps are optional. |

Quoting: Anonymous Coward 971681superior to the b.o.p. I second that motion. inferior to B.O.P. the rubber trash shoved in with a sweet shot of pressure is our hope today. A lack of situational awarness makes our opinions little more than mental masterbation. |

Anonymous Coward User ID: 945473 United States 05/16/2010 12:18 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | What's really amazing is that as an AC I fucking posted that "BP has a suggestion box" 14 hours before you did. Asked for a pin and there was links posted in it etc.., and no pin. Your ass comes on like you were the first on the scene and get a pin. Maybe the info was vital maybe not. But GLP got deprived of it being more viewable because it wasn't pinned. Only reason could be because of an AC posting. Quoting: ApostleCitizenNope. Not because you posted as an AC. Currently there are two pins on threads posted by an AC. More likely could have to do with what time you posted. Maybe the Mods were sleeping and missed your thread. There are a bazillion threads on the Oil Catastrophe by now. I did a search for the suggestions website and it did not show your thread. I did not mean to hijack you. It happens on here. Get over it. Also read SHR's thread to get your head around why they are so desperate. Thread: The BP Deep water horizon, Macondo Well Blowout. and what we are facing in the Gulf. (Page 2) I'm over it. I just wanted to know why for the 2nd time I posted a thread of something I felt really needed to be seen and NO pin. Then a day or 2 later it gets pinned like the other one never happened. I have SHR's thread(thoroughly). I'm fucking pissed and amazed at the whole thing. Those beautiful beaches, the animals, fishing industry, economy etc.., are very existence fucked and history! Sure accidents happen. But these fuckers are reckless and for some reason, our federal government who always has to have involvement into every country and situation on earth is basically sitting back doing nothing. What's it BP's mess they should fix/pay for it? As many think. Oh they'll pay some but the end result is once everything is destroyed WE all pay in every way possible and the feds still end up taking over! And that idiot Obama(I'm sure was seen by everyone) was two days before saying "Oil rigs are not responsible for oil spill. It fact with todays technology, they have safety devices which make it very unlikely.." Not verbatum(but damn close). I originally didn't think it but WE ARE DOOM'Duh. We can't go till August ! Thes FUCK PIECES OF SHIT! |

Anonymous Coward User ID: 923672 United States 05/16/2010 01:37 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Anyone have any of the below info? I'm looking for: - material composition of the pipe - is there an out and inner layer or pipe (pipe within a pipe)? If so, what materials used for both layers - outer pipe (ID) inside diameter - outer pipe (OD) outside diameter - inner pipe (ID) inside diameter - inner pipe (OD) outside diameter - pipe depth - ocean depth - ocean pressure at that depth - oil pressure exiting the pipe - gas pressure exiting the pipe - distance of ground zero from shore - info in the drill rig that is currently on site - one more question, do the oil rigs, (not the drills), the accumulators, use suction to surface the oil or does oil make it to the surface using its own pressure? I already know the temp of the oil is 60deg. F. I still find all this hard to accept. Something just doesn't make sense. Capping it will never work. Neither will blowing it up. It needs to be evacuated, until a more permanent repair can be accomplished. I would try to stack domes. One on top on another. Huge hole at the top of each one so they can't freeze or plug. Make rings to lock them together so they can't separate. Make them smaller and smaller as they go up again Interlocking. Stack them to the point where the ocean currents may effect them then stop. Then try to place a pipe on the upper dome. Maybe make a magnetic pipe that slides into the broken pipe opening, attaching it with many powerful magnets, like the type Intermagnetics makes (phillips company). Again, pipe composition plays a big factor here. I would also be drilling with more rigs. like suggested here - Thread: PLUGGING the oil hole |

User ID: 969131 United States 05/16/2010 01:56 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | HISTORY, folks, HISTORY!!! How did folks do it, way back when? Some dude was drilling, probably for water, and found OIL, okay? WTF did that dude do to CONTAIN it, and make it a salable commodity? HINT: He let it OOZE up, into some sort of holding pen, which he could tap into. If the pipe is 18 inches? Put a fucking 24" pipe down, AROUND IT, and let the oil "bubble up." Siphon it into the tankers. NATURAL and EASY, folks. The Let's-Use-Super-Glue guy? What about the toxic emissions from the Super Glue? WE AREN'T rocket scientists, folks. Thank God that all this needs is some common sense to remedy, but WTF is any Common Sense??? You're falling for the Throw Money At It way of solving problems, instead of the WTF WORKS way, following the Path Of Least Resistance (with the LEAST possible risk of even MORE SNAFU's). THINK, folks. Think about it like YOU're the one that's going to foot the bill. In the long run? YOU ARE, mofo's. This place kind-of-ly SUX. |

User ID: 971047 United States 05/16/2010 02:07 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | If you submit the solution and they do nothing then at least your hands are clean, but if you have the solution and do nothing the world dies a slow painful death and you become equally responsible by doing/saying nothing. Quoting: Anonymous Coward 971211You don't see that this is merely an "inclusiveness" ploy, to "spread the guilt"? BP fucks up. BP offers to share the guilt by asking for public advice. BP slides off the hook, by sharing the guilt. It becomes "collective guilt". Good psychological business strategem. It is part of their marketing strategy, but who cares? The oul spill has to be fixed, we owe this to the planet. And I agree with OP, we are all part of the problem. No demand, no drilling. No greedy shareholders, no risky drilling methods. If you have an idea, please make a suggestion. Well...I'm certainly no engineer...but what about dumping tons of that clumping cat litter into the hole?? I mean that stuff becomes hard and very sticky clay once wet. Maybe even leave it in the bags and use them like sand bags over the hole? If you pile enough of them on top of the hole, it just might be the perfect plug. At least temporarily till they can figure out something else or get that other well drilled. That stuff doesn't float either,at least I don't think it does due to its clay structure. Hmmmm it could work maybe? you know User ID: 953014 United States 05/16/2010 02:11 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | this tragedy is unacceptable! way too much risk drilling so deep underwater! who's idea was it anyway? shame on them!!! now to fix it!::::: drill a nearby spot and inject big objects to catch in the outflow spill. once enough junk is injected, it will clog or at least diminish the strong gush to a small workable/fixable leak. please don't forget to plug the new hole on the way out. good luck and hurry up please. |

I was actually surprised when a human being answered the phone on only the 3rd ring. He was real friendly, and actually seemed to ponder my idea for a bit...took all of my info and said he would submit it. I really didn't think I'd get a human being, and especially one that sounded so interested. Probably a bad idea, but hey, I tried... Real truth is self evident... |
