NO i'm one of them, always have been, always will be, more enlighten about certain things, in my mind anyhow...:) but other than that i'm as common as you..:) it's not an insult.. i just mean, most common folk don't have a clue, they are not 'aware' Of certain things that are going on, happening around them.. like signs of the times. |

User ID: 969131 United States 05/15/2010 09:54 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | What I find absolutely mind-boggling is the fact that no one ever even CONSULTED virtually ANY Disaster Plan Book, since the First And ForeMOST thang you do is to CONTAIN the damage. I was an Over-The-Road truck driver for many years, and THAT is how you handle a catastrophe: Contain, first; THEN Neutralize. Perhaps THAT's it ~ BP doesn't want anyone to notice that they have YET to Contain the mess, so distracting everyone with an invitation for suggestions is just Good Public Relations. And here's the Kicker: If all of the time and energy we've spent posting ABOUT this had been used to Contain it? We wouldn't be having this convo. This place kind-of-ly SUX. |

roach User ID: 971570 Canada 05/15/2010 10:33 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Under water hardening cement JB weld has a puddy that hardens to rock hard under water. But it would have to be mixed and placed fast because it hardens after 2 mins. It can be used to steal water leaks, but maybe the pressure is too high. |
Anonymous Coward User ID: 945473 United States 05/15/2010 10:35 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | BP has access to every university, private think-tank, and government on the face of the earth. Quoting: Anonymous Coward 959415They also have megabucks to feed specialists/scientist/engineers of the very highest caliber. Any appeal to the general public for their assistance with ideas is "throwing the dog a bone" to finesse the public into feeling a part of this disaster, into shared-guilt, nothing more. Think about it. I already have. These people are evil mofos. BP could say 'anything' about the suggestions received....how would we even know? They could say the vast majority of the "public" suggested us to...NUKE it !!! Then, when that causes the biggest disaster ever, BP will just say that it is the fault of John Q. Public and their 'suggestion'. See how that works? I do indeed, and I'm glad you do to. Now we've got to get the others to see it. Lotta subtle kumbaya share-the-guilt-with-BP subtleties running around GLP today, have you noticed? From Page One of this thread: I agree with you AC. Maybe GLP'ers can organize global mass protests to the news agencies and politicians and maybe gather en-mass for protests in front of all the BP gas/petrol stations to inform the public. NO NUCLEAR OPTION!!!!!!!!!! How does next Saturday work for everyone?? If they haven't deployed the nukes by then. What's really amazing is that as an AC I fucking posted that "BP has a suggestion box" 14 hours before you did. Asked for a pin and there was links posted in it etc.., and no pin. Your ass comes on like you were the first on the scene and get a pin. Maybe the info was vital maybe not. But GLP got deprived of it being more viewable because it wasn't pinned. Only reason could be because of an AC posting. |
Anonymous Coward User ID: 705796 Canada 05/15/2010 10:44 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | It seems to me that if they just wanted to stop the leak they could have easily. The issue is that they are actually trying to save the oil down there -- and the government is in on it. They are risking the environment for the sake of the damn oil at the bottom. |

[link to www.deepwaterhorizonresponse.com] I came up with an idea, posted a thread here at GLP... Thread: Ideas on how to control the GOM oil leak! I sent an email to an environmental representative for FOX News, I even sent an email to the black house. An engineer friend of mine thinks it's a great idea, it's cheap, light weight, inflatable, and prevents the oil from displacing vertically due to ocean currents. BP is asking for help?... As much as I want to tell them to suck it, I can't help but think about what is going to be affected by this if it can't be stopped. Well,... here it is BP. I offer my help to you, even though I shun your operations! |

Currently there are two pins on threads posted by an AC. More likely could have to do with what time you posted. Maybe the Mods were sleeping and missed your thread. There are a bazillion threads on the Oil Catastrophe by now. I did a search for the suggestions website and it did not show your thread. I did not mean to hijack you. It happens on here. Get over it.
