Dreams during Sickness
I've been sick for almost three weeks. Started out as strep and now I've been diagnosed with type A flu (Doctor feels certain it is H1N1).

During this time, I've had some really strong dreams. In my life I've had many dreams come true and these dreams are particularly disturbing (to say the least).

This is an excerpt from my latest dream...

I was standing in an industrial yard. All sizes of steel pipes, metal containers and pvc pipes were lying around. Heavy equipment and even rail cars were in the proximity. It was a massive place and we all were wearing hard hats and industrial ear plugs. I was being given a tour by one of the workers. He was explaining how the steel piping was used in production.
A few minutes into it, there was a slight rumble. I have never experienced the ground moving like that. The metal "clang"ed and machinery groaned. The workers knew exactly what had happened and began moving frantically to secure areas of the yard. The 'tour guide' muttered, "quake", beneath his breath. I arched my brow while questioning his answer at that mild movement we felt. He looked back at me, "You have to realize we just felt the outlying effects of that quake. It just devastated someplace and it's the worst tremblings we've ever had here." I held back my scoff, but asked him how he could possibly know it devastated another area. He turned me by the shoulders to face the west side of the plant.
There I could see... unbelievable... that the earth was disjointed in several places. Smoke was rising up from behind the incline of land. He sighed, "That's gotta be at least a 30 foot difference." He was referencing the land differences from the new peaks to what was the once level ground.
He grabbed my forearmm and we moved to a group that was gathering under a small pole barn that housed huge metal piping. There was a gab of talk concerning what we saw and what we were about to see. Two-way radios were going off and an alarm began sounding in the background. Someone mentioned water flows and I immediately looked to Jim, the tour guide, for an answer. He whispered, "We're gonna flood."

No one ever mentioned it, but I knew the location was California.

Maybe I've just been watching too many enthralling doom movies lately.

I've never had an earthquake dream before. But, nowadays there are daily rumblings.

Guess we'll just have to wait and see.

When you're sick, you try not to smoke as much pot. When you don't smoke as much pot, your brain unleashes all that previously stifled creativity and/or fears, whatever the case may be, at once.

Re: Dreams during Sickness
Ever since I started chemotherapy, I have had just insanely vivid and terrifying dreams.

Some of them did (just like this one) seem prophetic in a way. Not that I believe they will come true, mind you, but in my heart, I know all scenarios are possible.

Except, of course, the one I had where I swear I thought I was awake and there was a huge human-sized beetle in the corner of my room beckoning me with it's finger to come to it. That freaked me the fuck out.
Goodbye, halcyon days...

There is a theory which states that if ever anyone discovers exactly what the Universe is for and why it is here, it will instantly disappear and be replaced by something even more bizarre and inexplicable.

There is another theory mentioned, which states that this has already happened.

I work in pathology. The doc I work with teased me a little when I started using this man's recipe.

He doesn't tease me anymore because the way it spread....I shouldn't be here right now.

It's important to make sure we always have all the vitamins and minerals we need, but this recipe is what saved my life, when it came down to it.

I can't believe I'm advertising this man's articles and books hahhah

Re: Dreams during Sickness
i think maybe consciousness is more easily detached from the physical body during sickness. Perhaps it is a scalable thing where death = 100% detachment, health = 0% detachment and sickness somewhere between depending on how sick.

also OP i came down with strep (or what i thought was) on 4/7 and then it turned into a nasty virus to where i had so much phlegm in my lungs and throat i would gag but could not get it up. this went on for a week and ever since then i have coughed up probably 5 gallons of phlegm. worst virus of my life, it lasted a full month. at least now its only a very mild cough and lack of smell/taste so maybe we have the same thing. I'm in MI.

the beetle that you saw was imagery created by your fearful emotions. it happens to me a lot right when i wake up i will feel a sense of fear and immediately a giant insect will manefest where i am looking. they are harmless and you can tell they are your creations because they only appear where you are focused.

to the guy that said the tingle is on his head that is one of the chakras or energy centers of the body so its not unusual for energy to manefest there. vibrations are good and if you can feel/hear vibrations or intense energy you are very close to an out of body experience.

Also remember that your emotions and state of mind play a huge (100%) part in your dreams. You are actually manefesting your thoughts and emotions right in front of you. In the physical you can imagine something. In the dream world as soon as you imagine or think of something that is emotionally fueled it will manefest right before your eyes. It seems as if something is happening to you, but really it is only your mind expressing itself to you.

Once you can remain emotionally neutral thats when you can do some real astral traveling (heaven, hell, and beyond)

That's true. I did focus on the corner of my room and that's where it appeared. The reason I looked there? My brain told me to. Something made me look. Coerced (led) me to look there.

Re: Dreams during Sickness
I suffer from an autoimmune disease.

Since I became sick [about two years], my dreams have certainly become more vivid.

Salvador Dalí, Melty-clock World sorta dreams.

I think it's a combination of my medications [anti inflammatories] and psychological stress.

Like, I might be trapped in an Aquarium sized fish tank, and the people outside won't notice.

Another common dream is a crazy animal/bug appears, and I'm the only one who cares/sees it. [Like, a tiger will be walking around the supermarket]

These could be analogies.

Getting Sick = Tiger in the Supermarket/Trapped in a Fish Tank [or at least, that's what I write them off as]

However; what impresses me most about my dreams is the rendering.

Like, I'll be in an entire area/shopping mall/park, and they're places I've never seen before! Populated with people I've never met.

It's freaky, realizing my subconscious mind has the power to create such imagery.

@Only Me:

Good luck with your treatment! Hope you feel better! [And maybe keep some Raid Ant and Roach Zapper by your bed. I wouldn't want no giant bugs waving at me!]
