Wow. Excellent scoop. He said the swat teams were engineer teams that the driller, Transoceanic, maintains and it sounded like perhaps the Dept. of Interior has it's own swat teams of engineers.

Definitely sounds for real. The caller went into great detail about the equipment, the history of the rig, what happened when it exploded, etc. Fascinating.

Sounds like Halliburton blew it with a faulty cement plug.

Ok, let's set aside the superiority complex my little geek friend. One day, you will get sucked off too like the rest of us- even if you have to pay for it.

Negative: The callers' veracity was checked by the radio host while online. At some point, we must all trust something, no matter how menial (I'll give examples if the notion of trust cannot penetrate your cranium.)

For now, the caller appeared completely credible. I've heard no other version approaching this first-person eyewitness experience; other than pablum.

sounded like the real deal to me but sometimes you are just NOT in the loop, so to speak.

BOP equipment failed.

He said something like "sometimes mother nature throws you a curve and you and the equipment aren't ready for it".

They weren't ready for the pressures or the amount of gas that blew up the pipe.

Probably because you can't be ready for an underwater volcano mixed with oil and magmatic gas.
