Quoting: Anonymous Coward 195267...uh, maybe because our government is too busy EXPLOITING the bug to spy on us? No, surely not. I never said anything. |

The attack works against Mozilla Firefox 3.6, the most current version of the browser, but does not affect earlier versions, according to Mozilla. Quoting: Watch Out! 195267That's why you NEVER install an upgrade when it first comes out. Only tards do that. |

Forum Administrator User ID: 882428 United States 03/23/2010 08:16 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | BTW, my Firefox shows that it's updating, but it's been doing Quoting: DrPostmanthat for a long time. I wonder if it's stuck. i have the new 3.6 dr p, and i find that every time they update the thing to a new version its buggy as hell. sometimes it will blow me out to desktop. i didnt do the update yet on my other comp. political correctness is a doctrine.... fostered by a delusional, illogical minority...... and rabidly promoted by an unscrupulous mainstream media; which holds forth the proposition that it is entirely possible to pick up a turd by the clean end. |
Just me User ID: 812857 United States 03/23/2010 08:17 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | The German government advised Firefox users to switch browsers until Mozilla patches a security flaw in the browser. Quoting: Watch Out! 195267The advisory was issued March 19 by BürgerCERT , Germany ’s Computer Emergency Readiness Team, in response to a vulnerability reported by Russian security researcher Evgeny Legerov. Legerov, who is the founder of the Moscow-based security firm Intevydis, discovered the bug last month and added it as a module to Vulndisco, an add-on to the Immunity Canvas exploit system used by security pros for pen testing. Legerov’s exploit can be used to trigger a heap corruption vulnerability and can potentially allow an attacker to execute arbitrary code. The attack works against Mozilla Firefox 3.6, the most current version of the browser, but does not affect earlier versions, according to Mozilla.[/b] [link to www.eweek.com] I keep getting a 3.6 upgrade popup from Firefox. GLAD I have NOT installed it! Thanks for the post! |

Quoting: Anonymous Coward 195267I've always wondered that myself. I know many people have lost lots of important things, spent countless hours trying to fix and even threw away good computers they could not figure out how to fix because of these sercurity leaks and yet all this damage is never traced back to who was responsible. If someone tears up my stuff then they should have to replace it and our government does nothing. |

Anonymous Coward User ID: 919510 United States 03/23/2010 09:06 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | I just updated. I'll probably have to go through and disable IPv6 again. If you don't, many websites will say server time out. Man, I'm beginning to hate firefox as much as I hate IE. One thing about firefox that really disturbs me is the version number. Now it is Firefox version 3.6.2 Yeah, nice, I have a feeling by september the 18th of this year it will read, Firefox version 3.6.9 which is 3+6+9 = 18, 18 is, in satanic circles, 6+6+6 or 666. You know, it is starting to get easy spotting their dumb use of numbers. How ironic that they call Christians delusional, ha! We are not the ones casting spells, or signing a bill into law at 11:11 in the East room, East, the first direction you call out to before making a pentagram or spell. ARghhhh. |
