Anonymous Coward User ID: 913340 United States 03/11/2010 10:28 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Hurricane Ivan, a category 4 storm, passed directly over six wave-tide gauges deployed by the Naval Research Laboratory on the outer continental shelf in the northeastern Gulf of Mexico. Waves were observed with significant wave heights reaching 17.9 meters and maximum crest-to-trough individual wave heights of 27.7 meters (91 feet). Analysis suggests that significant wave heights likely surpassed 21 meters (69 feet) and that maximum crest-to-trough individual wave heights exceeded 40 meters -132 feet) -near the eyewall. "But the cause is never studied to the same detail as an air crash. It simply gets put down to 'bad weather'." on average over a hundred "LARGE" ships a yr sink.... maybe someone else can navigate the page better or has the time for the research :) I am wondering what is on those ships and why we don't hear about them. Aren't there oh IDK like PEOPLE that need rescued and such, how much fuel are they carrying when they go down " on average", etc so why no further investigations as Wolfgang states ? And while scientists have been looking down their noses at sailors, two large ships are going down per week, possibly due to these rogue waves. I think it is really encouraging to see so many people from some many cultures, nations come to this site in search of truth... It shows me that there are many of us who are trying to wake people up all over the world... fuck yeah. But I hope you don't get censored, for real. Quoting: wonbyOne 889729What about that "rogue" wave, as they called it, that just slammed into that French cruise ship last week or so? Said to be at least 25 feet high - - can you imagine seeing that coming at you? And it killed 2 people on the ship! (Hi Malu!) I thought about this recent event, too. Seems like there have been more and more reports of "rogue waves" capsizing ships and boats lately... |
