[quote:Hippigal:MV82NDUzOThfOTgyNzUyNl8yRUEwREU0NA==] Maybe, if the net were to go down, it wouldn't be such a bad thing. Some people might actually develop a life. You know, actually leave your basement and go outside into the real world. Interact with real people face to face. What a concept. .......................................................... So true. All you folks here who mention more social interaction the way it used to be are right. I love e-cards, sending the paper ones was such a drag. I love e-mail, it was so boring to receive letters, and keep putting off writing back. I spend more time here with virtual ppl than real live ones. I would miss the "instant" aspect of the net. When I think off all the things we have now that we didn't have 30 years ago before the computer age, I will absolutely miss the easy social way out. But you know our world will shrink so much. Here I am typing this reply to folks who are probably scattered around the world, all that will disappear and we will have to look ppl in the face again. I don't know about you but I will really mourn for the net if it ever goes down. In addition to what I said above, it will be very hard to go back to reading, writing (by hand!) and we older folks will have to teach the younger ones how to cope. All they've ever known is the computer age. They will be in for a very rude awakening if it isn't there anymore 8-[ [/quote]

Here lately I have been thinking of this more and more as the doom gets worse and worse. Older folks like me will be devastated that there will be no instant communication but after a time of adjustment we will go back to what we knew before the computer age.
What do you think?????
