[quote:Five Forty Four A.M.:MV81MTYxNjA1Xzk0ODA4NjA4XzlEMEJBN0NG] 6 yrs old On Scott St exit on I 45 in 69. We were in a little red vw bug. We had just finished picking up a rug that Dad folded into the nook in the back window. The car hit moms side and she got the worst of it;lacerations and a broken jaw. Dad got a broken nose from the steering wheel. All the glass came crashing from that back window onto mine and my brothers heads, but the rug prevented most of it from harming us. The ambulance and first responders were wonderful, distracting us kids from the horror of seeing our mother bloodied head to toe and unresponsive. She survived to live to age 74, in fact we all survived the crash completely. I remember being wide awake at the hospital when they numbed my scalp to pull out the 2 or 3 bits of glass. Little brother, aged 2, had a tiny scratch. They said his being buckled into a carseat was what saved him. It was a weird foam rubber car seat, back when it wasn't a very big thing to have one. I always thought how many coincidences happened that night. The rug, the carseat..and the really cool one, my brother's name; Scott [/quote]

I was 3. Had an ear tag. I remember being held down on the hospital bed, lime green walls, and the med team shoving a black mask over my face to put me out.
They say mental illness is spawned from trauma.
