They think they will be able to build another tower of babel. Just remember that behind drones control pads are children. Imagine 22 yo veteran with ptsd after operating drones, it is real.
I didn't think it was disturbing either, but I think you misunderstand the warfare they're talking about. Warfare has always been real and like your example of the 22yo with ptsd. Imagined or indirect trauma can be a useful tool in war.
I think you dont know what I am talking about.
You're right. It seems like you were talking about physical conflicts where people die and trillions are wasted protecting poppy fields. I was talking about demoralizing enemy combatants by using propaganda into non combative protesting before actual conflict. I'm willing to admit I was wrong due to inexperience, if you're willing to admit we're just looking at things differently. What about an agreement to disagree?
But you are talking about two kinds of war. The war which causes people to die and trillions to be wasted doesn't involve any actual loss to that mindset. These are private interests being protected and making money, not the US economy. The second kind of war is largely conducted against people who are opposed to the first, both foreign and domestic. Now if I object to my people dying and the coffers of my country being drained to benefit a select few who have highly questionable loyalty to the country doing their fighting, this makes me an 'enemy' of my country. So both versions mean our country/all countries are only the vehicle for special interests and our military are in every case a mercenary class. In that case, trauma is definitely useful. Rapists and slave-dealers think the same thing.
I thought that AC 8286 was talking about physical war, whereas I assumed with Twatter blowing up we were in a digital war. One it seemed he didn't think was real war because nobody died. That was the underlining theme of our disagreement. It's ok for people to disagree because opinions are like bums, everyone's got one and this is the internet. Militaries are useful and so are the people that are in them. However it takes a very naive or immoral person to question whether those militaries should be used in foreign policy. Either the naive person believes the military shouldn't be used to aggrandize wealthy people like the Sacklers who bribe politicians for those lucrative Government contracts. Or the immoral person knows it and profits from it by owning corporate stock who would do well in the event of conflict.
Shouldn't be used, or wouldn't be used?
Hmmm... I don't think it matters to be honest. We both know the political class invests in defense contractors 6 to 12 months before declaring some random country or non state actor to be an enemy of the people with the media pushing the population into demanding their state go bomb some poor hapless person who has no idea why his corn field suddenly exploded... You know I'm right! Lulcatz
I guess. I was just trying to parse out your immoral/naive dichotomy. It would seem that anyone not in the master class would be a member of solely those two groups. Partisans of all stripes in private conversations have usually either said 'it's good business' (right) or 'if you're going to make an omelet' (left). They've gotten more nuanced recently but I'm old now and not especially invested outside of trying to figure out what the point of it all is.
I'm somewhat of an oddity. I don't understand most of what goes on in my life, but I think there's a lot more weird stuff than I realize. The fact of the matter is... 10,000 years ago, people discovered they could get stuff by trading it with other people. Then a particularly bright person decided to invent something other people didn't have and call it "money". Which they'd give people and exchange it for stuff. Like a trader would say to his customers, "Bring me a chicken and I'll give you this piece of silver you can give to my cousin who is a tailor and you'll be fashionable and impress ladies..." Then when the family of the trader married other families and then they used a form of barter involving their "money". Then the trader's family used their "money" to help "Princes" or the trader's relatives to buy armies and then the "Prince" made the trader's "money" "Legal Tender". And the trader's princely relatives fought over money and power until one day a "Prince" said... "Screw fighting; let's just own Earth." "We'll have one family! Ours! Who is rich and powerful like Earthly gods, and the peasants will eat opioids like candy..." "We'll have our kingdom of banks and the peasants will be happy and own nothing because we'll be the only people with property rights! Yay us!" And thus here we are in the 21st Century with our dark overlords called "The Elites", while we pray for cat food and our idiot boxes to tell us we're model Global Citizens for walking and not eating meat! That's history in a nutshell.
Here's the video in question and the Twitter account that posted it.
I have a backup YouTube direct link too if this goes down.
I don't know what else to say other than everything about this video seems directly targeted at people like those of us who inhabit GLP.
It feels like a personal declaration of war on people like us if I'm being honest.
