[quote:PiccoloGal:MV80OTQyMDgzXzkwMzg4NzMyXzlDNkMyOUEz] [quote:Theobromine:MV80OTQyMDgzXzkwMzg1MDc1XzkxNDFCNzVD] OT Back when I worked for a great life insurance company they had booklets for bereaved families Call your insurance agent (any life insurance ) and ask if they have one for children like “when a parent dies”. They should have one for children and one for the family on how to help children- with age appropriate suggestions Life insurance companies are actually a wonderful and free resource for families handling death
Your local hospice will have this brochure and others. I’ve done hospice for my husband and sister-in-law and they are a precious service to have when we need help and comfort the most. I’m sure they will also point you to grief counseling sessions (they did for me). They have sessions for children that both your son and granddaughter could also benefit from.
My son's wife died of the shot....got it less than 24 hours ago....now we have to tell my granddaughter her mom is gone......I am lost my friends
I should add that my granddaughter is with her father and had not been told as of yet....her pop-pop called to tell her dad...he called me right away
Everyone gathered at 11:00 and my granddaughter was told about her mom.....16 people came to lend support and show Livi the love she has all around her......about two hours later as we were all getting our eyes dry she turns to me and says "Don't worry grandpa, I'll be all right." Wasn't a dry eye in the house....a remarkable little girl....I know full well it hasn't fully sunk in but she was doing her best to process it all.
AGAIN...thank you all for YOUR support in these trying times....God bless you all!!
