i just listened to a song that came on the radio. It's the "Above All Power" song, sung by Michael W Smith, i think.
What caused me to have pause is the part that says "You thought of me, ABOVE ALL".
No He didn't.
WE are NOT ABOVE ALL.
Interesting how that ol' slithering serpent ssssslithers into songs that we all mindlessly sing without examining if. those traditional and beloved words in that song line up with God's Word.
Lest we forget, that ol' sly and tricky serpent LOVES church, and our "worship" songs.
Church is his fav'tite place to deceive us, along with those songs that we sing mindlessly thinkin' we're "worshiping and praise God" yet getting us to deceive ourselves in the very words of that ol' song.
Oh, and his most favorite place to deceive us and to put us to slumbering n' snoring spiritually?
Well that would be through the pulpit, itself....
the preacher.
On a side note, i was also considering titling this journal/blog this:
