Eyeing Ohio locations. Wondering if it is just as well to visit there instead of an ocean beach. Thanks.
Presque Isle in Erie, PA Sandusky, Ohio Put-in-Bay island Geneva On The Lake
The last two are going to be a bit more of a crazy party atmosphere. If you want a little quieter, but on the islands, I suggest Kelley's. Also Huron and Catawba (Ohio) have some nice public beaches. You may be able to Air B'n'B a place in either town though that has access to a private beach. These are really nice.
Hey Doc! I can confirm Put-in-Bay is a huge party place on the weekends and now that it is summer, it'll pick up more during the week, too. Nice place to visit for a day, though. Huron and Catawba are nice. Sandusky doesn't really have a beach, it's at Cedar Point. Part of the beach is free/open to public. They do have a water park on the lake. Extra admission. Maumee Bay State Park is closer to Toledo. I've not been there, but my folks used to love it. Everyone I know that's been there had good things to say about it. I'm in the area now. Let me know if I can help. I'm prejudiced, though. Grew up here. I LOVE my lake!
