[quote:2lander:MV80NTkyNDE4XzgzNjE0ODg3XzlDNDMzMjEx] [quote:PresidentElect BlueStateRebel:MV80NTkyNDE4XzgzNjE0MDgzXzk1M0RBN0Iw] I think they like the sense of being part of something "bigger" than they are. Some people have no regard for individuality - they might as well be plants. They seem to like to be part of some big movement, like a war, to charge them up and find their identity. The "we're all in this together" bullshit. Or like a World War 2 effort. They must have such empty lives.
:hesright: My thoughts exactly. I think most people lead such meaningless lives that this gives them some sense of being part of something. That this is the defining moment in their lives and they will look back on this as their WW2, or the civil right movement. Meanwhile, they're acquiescing to their newfound slavery. :slaphim:
I’m trying to figure it out.
I’ve seen it first-hand with several family members on family text. They seem downright
excited
with the new restrictions placed locally, as mild as they are compared to other places. That’s the only way I can describe it accurately - there’s real energy and excitement about the new restrictions, like they can now become more fully part of the pandemic movie they’re playing in their heads.
To be clear, this isn’t about my family members. I’m using them as first-hand experience with how the minds work of those who are compliant. It’s disturbing. It’s like street theatre and they can’t wait to participate.
I’m interested in hearing what others’ experiences are with those all on-board with restrictions, and what you think is their motivation behind it. So many people are acting in ways I never thought the majority in society would act like.
