[quote:Irish eyes:MV80NDQwNTAzXzgwODQzODg0Xzk3MDlEOTJG] [quote:Busterhymen:MV80NDQwNTAzXzgwODQwNTA2X0FCQjMwRUI2] Here's an article about the house and owners. Oh, and the "peaceful" protesters completely destroyed a wrought iron gate leading into the private community. https://www.stlmag.com/design/a-decades-long-renovation-returns-a-midwestern-palazzo-to-it/
In looking at the reports and links I realize I've been in this house back around the mid 2000's. It's huge. At the time it was still in the process of renovation. Thanks for the link as this confirmed the fact I've been in this house. The house is so big that when you went outside you had to leave the radio playing in the room you were working in to find your way back.
While I don't necessarily agree with their tactics, which were inappropriate and tactically unsound, I think the message is clear that these homeowners aren't going to be easily intimidated. Interesting fact: The neighborhood the protestors are in is private property, including the streets. It's a very wealthy subdivision just north of Forest Park, on the west side of Kingshighway.
***ETA***Yes, they had every right to defend their property and persons, however, they should have been much smarter in how they did it.
