Fire works just fine. I don't need additional 'things' to carry around. Preppers need minimal items. Easy to pack up, move around and get away.
You know you really are not thinking of the wide variety of preppers here and what they are prepping for. This little stove weighs only a few pounds. Most of them come in a carrying case. If I lose power down here in Florida due to storms I am not going to be building a fire out in the yard to make coffee or cook rice. Also even BBQs can be a pain to deal with for, like I said above the boiling water frying egg thing. Not to mention as she points out in the video a small stove can be a little more stealth. Shelter in place is a thing. If you wanna go full on out inawoods and build yer smoke signal fire go on ahead.
I think the two of you have different ideas of prepping. Yours is short term his is very long term. How much fuel are you going to store? 3 months, 6months, years or is this for the real and much more common SHTF that lasts for a couple of weeks or days? FYI: Long term you'll be inawoods and build yer smoke signal fire.
Long term in the woods there are actually ways to build small, efficient fires that don't throw a huge heat signal off. Dakota Fire Hole.
Ok I admit I have wanted one of these and have seen the bank of choices available at the Asian Market. This woman has a short little youtube that explains how to load one, use it and even suggestions to save fuel.
