Fire works just fine. I don't need additional 'things' to carry around. Preppers need minimal items. Easy to pack up, move around and get away.
Because, if you are in emergency and need quickly to make just a pot of tea or instant coffee, from the moment you desire it and you can have it ready, it's just in a matter of minutes... not so easily with a fire, which you need to start, to develop it, etc. And mostly is that you want to do it w/o leave a large trace in heat thermal vision domain nor making huge setups that could take long time and could expose you if you are on the run or something. This is said that 90% of population will disappear in the first few weeks after a SHTF scenario, because of lemmings like you!
LOL, excellent - Also some older ladies cannot handle a big propane tank. Those little cans of butane can be picked up over time at a few dollars each. Of course we are all afraid of Asian folks right now due to the virus but an excellent, low cost place to look at a variety of these stoves and get cheap butane are the Asian Markets. For Floridians near the Orlando area, 50 in Winter Park has a slew of very large Asian food and goods markets. I think you can manage a pretty good emergency back up set up of stove and fuel for $30 bucks or less.
Ok I admit I have wanted one of these and have seen the bank of choices available at the Asian Market. This woman has a short little youtube that explains how to load one, use it and even suggestions to save fuel.
