Boundaries still exist. Consent is a tool by which boundaries are formed. What do you do when an employee takes money from the register, or when your accountant skims a little off the top? Or when there's rats in the cupboard, the waterhose is punctured? Its about principles, and some lack them when it comes to coexisting with others.
The ancient schools of thought posit that there exists no such boundaries between us and them, any such thing is purely artificial and illusionary - for example, there are many micro-systems in the ocean, within which are flows and currents and all sorts of things swimming around affecting the environment, such as in one's own mind, but if one were able to take a step back, one would see that all of these things are just one swirl in a much vaster ocean, and if one were, thus I have heard, to take a step back again, one would see that it is all just waters, there is no firmament.. and if one would take a st..
Equally so we have the capability to create boundaries and such are necessary in times where another conscious entity seeks to impose its will on you without consent. The fundamental nature of reality is without separation but a function of that same reality is to form separateness. In the quest to learn about what we feel we lack we have forgotten about what already have. Union of opposites is not the same as obliteration. The union of all things is the allowance for what makes things seperate to work in favor of the existence of those things together. Not the destruction of difference. If you have ever seen when yin and yang are united, nothing about them changes except for in some cases the colors of the components. The form stays the same, but what changes is the function in relation to each other. It is a unified whole of parts with no disharmony.
