[quote:M 1441131:MV8zNjM4MTA3XzY0OTgxNzQ1XzYyREI4QUNB] [quote:Anonymous Coward 75502448:MV8zNjM4MTA3XzY0OTgxMDc0XzNCQkVGRjFB] there is a info graphic for antifa going around on the 4 place it lists new ways to "separate Trump from his base" they are just lying and saying stuff to try to piss the base off and make them dump Trump There never was a deal on DACA Just lies
Makes no sense. If Schumer and Pelosi blatantly lies in their initial press conference, then why didn't Trump just immediately come out and say Whoa... We never made any agreement? You know what he did say? He tweeted how wonderful the Dreamers were and how we shouldn't be so heartless. THAT WAS HIS RESPONSE. now.. I can hear a lot of you now say... But... But... He did come out and say the wasn't a deal..... And you're right... But that was WAY after the fact and after the shit storm hit conservative radio and websites. It was damage control. Now... Maybe he HAS changed his position now that he has seen the outcry... But don't any of you dare SPIN that into "There was no deal all along. The media and Pelosi Shummer were lying all along" No. that's not how it went down. Your skipping a lot of prior events to create a false narrative.
Sen. Tom Cotton (R-Ark.) said in an interview Sunday that President Trump called him to let him know he did not make a deal with Democratic leadership on the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) program.
“You know, I think the president has said publicly that there's not a deal,” Cotton told NBC’s “Meet the Press,” referencing Trump’s discussion with Democratic leadership about the DACA program and border security.
Some reports indicated Trump agreed to hold back on attaching funding for his proposed border wall in order to push through DACA legislation with Democratic support.
“He wants to see a deal," Cotton added. "In fact, he called me a couple nights ago to say there's no deal. He wants to make sure that we protect the interest of American workers. In particular, by ending unlimited chain migration which is why we have so many unskilled workers coming into the country.”
Cotton emphasized that a deal has yet to be reached on DACA, an Obama-era program that protected young immigrants brought to the United States illegally as children from deportation. The Trump administration announced earlier this month that it would phase out the program, giving Congress six months to act.
“We want to put American interests or American workers' interests first. And we'll do that. But there's no deal right now. And I'm happy to work for the president and Democrats in Congress try to reach a deal that helps American workers,” Cotton said.
