[quote:Zen & Zi:MV8zNTA1MzQyXzYyNTcyOTkwX0I5OERFOUY5] [quote:X1811:MV8zNTA1MzQyXzYyNTcyOTA4XzY2OTREQTgy] He was the only Congressman who didn't use the allotted money for a D.C. Residence. He slept on a cot in his office and used the shower in the House gym. Considering how much largesse the Congress allots itself from our money, I'd say that's the politician you want managing the budget. I always liked when he had some poor Gov rep. who got thrown under the bus to be the one to face Congress and he'd start with the most basic of foundation questions and they'd be afraid to say the obvious answer, and he'd be real nice and say "the answer is yes, it's not a trick".
Yeah, he was pretty cool for a while. I guess that's why this is so disappointing. That, and the fact that he was probably the most vocal in Congress about going after Killary. He was outstanding in the Comey hearings. Then the waffling on Trump and it went down hill from there. Maybe Killary's clan got to him.
What a disappointment he turned out to be. He talked tough for about two seconds and now he's leaving.
"Thank you for allowing me to serve as your Representative in the United States House of Representatives. Serving is an honor and a privilege that I have never taken for granted.
After long consultation with my family and prayerful consideration,
I have decided I will not be a candidate for any office in 2018.
"
From grass roots to GOP establishment to gone in eight years - and just when he could have done something good in Congress.
