[quote:Useless Cookie Eater:MV8yOTg1NzcyXzUyODc1MDAyXzY0NzY1RkFB] The best thing you could do for her if she is a gifted child is to remove her from the public school. A private or charter school will have the ability to teach her on the level she requires and not sit waiting for the other students to catch up. Really...get her out of the public system. [/quote]

So my baby June, in 1st Grade - her teacher at the last PTO (We call them that in this State) - they are teaching her 3rd Grade English and Math since she "naturally" is able to pick up on the 1st/2nd grade material.
Now - I've read other threads... about gifted children being "targeted" -
Hell, I just read something about during the Cold War they really pushed the "gifted program" for students and "morphed" them...
So I'm super excited - yet also worried.
I'm not a mother, I'm a Dad - so there's a slight disconnect, (Boys love Mom, Girls Love Dad) - yet Dad's don't have that magic intuition that Mothers do.
Since it's a Public School, should I be worried?
