:applause2: For the most part, I agree with the rest of your reply. But, excerpts from the news article makes me believe this isn't simply a compliance issue: For two years, red, white and blue has waved in the wind outside Amanda Busch's door. She said her American flag was never an issue, until two weeks ago. "They said other people could be offended by it and that's why we can't have one." The Pointe apartments refused to comment on their balcony policies. Busch received a brief explanation and scribbled the response on a note pad. She reads, "There's a lot of things that can be displayed on a flag and we don't want to give the wrong message or offend anybody." I understand being "politically correct", but not to the point that our very simplest of rights are taken away.
while flag wasn't specifically worded ...they'll use the decoration part to uphold it. if she doesn't have a decent lawyer or have a big part of the community behind her...she'll take it down or be moving. hopefully if and when she moves...she'll read everything in any move in agreement next time. Although the Pointe apartments refused to comment, Action 3 News acquired the notice sent to Busch and other tenants. It states: plants, wind chimes, rugs, sun shades or other decorations cannot be displayed on balconies.
Yet another company that is telling someone they can't hang an American flag. Let's flood this companies email and voicemail!
La Vista, NE - For two years, red, white and blue has waved in the wind outside Amanda Busch's door.
She said her American flag was never an issue, until two weeks ago. "They said other people could be offended by it and that's why we can't have one."
Busch lives at the Pointe Apartments. She received a notice stating flags and sun shades cannot be attached or displayed to her balcony. "We should be able to be proud of where we live. Be able to support our troops by putting up a flag."
Busch feels her rights were violated when she was faced with a tough decision. Take down the flag or be evicted; the flag now hides in a garage.
