Original Message Apparently there has been a debate between the US and the Philippines over the past year (at least) about whether the US should be able to re-establish military bases over there due to "tensions" with China in the South China Sea.

I haven't been following the politics of that area, but I am wondering if a disaster like this typhoon might not provide a perfect opportunity for the US military to go into the Philippines to "help" them recover from this tragedy....

Considering that we seem to have some weather manipulation technology, I can't help but wonder if the US had anything to do with the size or direction of the latest typhoon....

Perhaps those who know more about the geo-politics of that area might care to comment.
