28 years ago I broke my small toe. It never healed right and kept getting re-broken over the years. Toenail got all twisty and bent and thick. Couldn't feel anything in the toe or expect it to move.
Now at age 41 the toe seems to be righting itself. I can move it again and the toenail seems to be fighting to go back to normal shape. It's so noticeable to me that I'm walking strange, like I've found balance for the first time in 28 years.
Is it normal for a broken bone from 28 years ago to start correcting itself after all this time?
