In a word - YES! Quebec has demanded that ALL of Canada serve them in French. Our government services must be in French, all public servants must speak French in all of Canada whether or not anyone for miles around does. Quebec construction workers demand the right to work in any province. All labels must be bilingual. All traffic signs must be bilingual. However, if you go to Quebec it is illegal to have a sign in English. You cannot work in Quebec on construction jobs unless you are from Quebec. All traffic signs are in French only. Even paramedics do not have to speak English, in fact they are trying to restrict the English language being taught in schools. It got so bad that a paramedic refused to help a child because the father did not address him in French! The ironic part? Quebec French is so bastardized that I doubt anyone from France could understand them. Most French people here in Ontario are rude and ignorant, demanding their rights while, as in Quebec, refusing to acknowledge the rights of others. When they wanted to separate they really thought they could leave while retaining all the benefits of being Canadian. They forgot that the majority of their province belongs to Natives who seem to prefer to remain Canadian. So, US, you're more than welcome to them. I!d love to watch you deal with their demands As I said before, it's our crybaby province and the rest of us are getting tired of their temper tantrums and rude manners. They are an embarrassment to any country that values fairness and equality.
Quebec has demanded that ALL of Canada serve them in French. - False Our government services must be in French, all public servants must speak French in all of Canada whether or not anyone for miles around does. - False. We want services in the TWO language. Canada is officially bilingual under the Official Languages Act and the Constitution of Canada that require the federal government to deliver services in both official languages. Quebec construction workers demand the right to work in any province. - We don't have this right. it is illegal to have a sign in English - False. It is illegal to have a sign ONLY in english. You can have both. You cannot work in Quebec on construction jobs unless you are from Quebec. - Same thing for NB, i don't know about the other by i guess its the same everywhere. All traffic signs are in French only. - Traffic signs in ontario, sask, alberta, are in english only. Paramedic refused to help a child because the father did not address him in French! - Link or didn't happen. The ironic part? Quebec French is so bastardized that I doubt anyone from France could understand them. - Cause the French from French use soooo many english word. Ils cherchent un «parking», vont faire du «shopping» afin d'avoir dekoi pour faire du «fooding». http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/magazine-22607506 Most French people here in Ontario are rude and ignorant. - You can remove the word «French» and the sentence is still correct. They forgot that the majority of their province belongs to Natives who seem to prefer to remain Canadian. - What about the majority of your country, dumbass? it's our crybaby province - As far as i can tell, YOU are the crybaby in here. But hey, i agree. We should separate and let you merge with the USA.
Your counter points are all inaccurate! You don't get around much do you? One prime example. Drive across Quebec and point to one road sign in English! As you leave Quebec to enter Ontario the road signs are In BOTH languages. Go visit a small town in the prairies! Their public officials must be bilingual even though not one soul for miles around speaks French! You're not even familiar with the laws in Quebec. Try putting out an English sign on a business and watch what happens! As for construction workers, jobs in Ontario are crawling with workers from Quebec but Ontario workers are not allowed to work in Quebec. All other provinces have workers from across Canada. Yep, large Native population in all of Canada. Why are you making that an issue, we're not trying to force them to give up their rights as Canadians as well. I'm sure as hell not proud of how the Canadian government handles anything with Natives but that is not the issue here. You could also use a lesson in languages. The French language from France is perhaps one of the most beautiful languages in the world! It is Quebec French that has bastardized itself with English! Most of our languages have Latin roots but that went all to hell in Quebec. That is natural as two cultures merge but then for one of those cultures to hold itself above the other claiming it's right to preserve what has already been changed is ludicrous! I remember in the 70s Quebec went so far it demanded that all planes be landed in French! That got quashed because the rest of the world screamed out about how dangerous and outright stupid that was. English is the universal language used, but that is just one example of Quebec's outrageous childishness. If calling a spade a spade is being a cry baby then I'm guilty. Quebec wouldn't be missed by the rest of Canada. Sadly I found Montreal to be one of the nicest cities I have ever been too. The people were great and I think without the radical separatists and politicians in Quebec we could be a bi-lingual country with equal rights for all, not special rights for Quebec.
