[quote:ToyTV:MV8xODcyMTU4XzMxMjMxMDY2XzIxODZDODI=] [quote:Anonymous Coward 16193479:MV8xODcyMTU4XzMxMjMwODczX0REQzY5Rjkx] John Calvin and Martin Luther both taught that we have no free will.... ( 2 Thessalonians 2:11) And for this cause God shall send them strong delusion, that they should believe a lie, That they all might be damned who believed not the truth, but had pleasure in unrighteousness. "Before I formed you in the womb I knew you, before you were born I set you apart" (Jeremiah 1:5) "Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly places in Christ, just as He chose us in Him before the foundation of the world, that we would be holy and blameless before Him. In love He predestined us to adoption as sons through Jesus Christ to Himself, according to the kind intention of His will,..." (Eph. 1:3-5) "And we know that God causes all things to work together for good to those who love God, to those who are called according to His purpose. For those whom He foreknew, He also predestined to become conformed to the image of His Son, so that He would be the firstborn among many brethren; and these whom He predestined, He also called; and these whom He called, He also justified; and these whom He justified, He also glorified." (Rom. 8:28-30)
Yes, those are some of the verses he gave me. Interesting. Thanks.
I am curious about believers views of free will vs predestination as a salvation issue. Were some chosen and others not prior to creation?
I have always been a free will believer. But toight I got into a debate with a predestination believer.
I am curious as to others insight on the matter.
Do you believe saved people have always been saved from the beginning? Or is it a choice?
